Freshwater crocodiles start to hatch; many lorikeet young, especially rainbow and scaly-breasted, learning to fly; young boobook owls learning to fly. Turtles start to come ashore to lay eggs.

Saltwater crocodiles are building nests and laying their eggs; bentwing bats are giving birth - this occurs across Australia at about the same time even though in northern Australian bats may mate months earlier than those in the south; cicadas are emerging; turtles are coming ashore to lay eggs.
